The research envisaged at the A3US laboratory covers a broad spectrum of issues related to Acoustic Imaging and Signal Processing.
The Applied Electromagnetics (AEM) group focuses its research activities on several areas of electromagnetics, ranging from antennas design and analysis to numerical methods, and from the study of the interaction between electromagnetic fields and biophysical systems to microwave imaging methods and systems
The main research activity concerns the combining of functions of Smartphones, which can be considered versatile devices and offer a wide range of possible uses, through advanced signal processing techniques.
The research activity of the IPRS team focuses on the problem of the extraction of environmental information (either thematic, geophysical and/or biophysical) from remote-sensing Earth-Observation (EO) images, i.e., from images acquired by satellite or airborne sensors.
The research activity of Numip area is devoted to image processing and analysis techniques, focused at the numerical level, towards the symbolic level.
The main reference of the research carried out in the Satellite Communications and Networking Laboratory concerns the Quality of Service (QoS) management in heterogeneous telecommunications networks, which often includes satellite and wireless portions.
The Telecommunication Networks and Telematics (TNT) Lab is a joint research laboratory between the Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and Naval Architecture Department (DITEN) at the University of Genoa, and the National Inter-University Consortium for Telecommunications (CNIT).
The vIdeo and SIgnal Processing For Telecommunications (ISIP40) research team was founded in 1991 by Prof. Carlo Regazzoni. Main research areas are Cognitive and Video Surveillance and Software Defined and Cognitive Radios.
